New Music Friday is stacked with Quavo, Victoria Monét, Drake, Lil Nas X, Mac Miller, NoCap and more new pop and hip-hop releases.

Quavo Brought Pharrell—and Apparently Everybody Else

Quavo is making sure New Music Friday, October 2, 2026 has some serious Atlanta energy with QRÖMELIFE, his new 14-track solo album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. And Quavo did not exactly keep the guest list modest. Offset, Future, Lil Baby, T.I., Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Yung Miami and Justin Timberlake all appear across the project. The Offset collaboration “Away” is especially notable, reuniting the two Migos members on record. Basically, Quavo looked at the feature budget and said, “Yes.”

Victoria Monét Has 22 Reasons to Cancel Your Other Plans

On the pop and R&B side, Victoria Monét returns with Frequency of Love, a whopping 22-track album following her Grammy-winning JAGUAR II era. Monét has again worked with longtime collaborators including D’Mile, with Kaytranada also part of the album’s sonic universe. Previously released songs such as “Let Me” and “Reach Out” helped set the mood, but with 22 tracks, this isn't a little musical snack. Victoria packed lunch, dinner and leftovers.

Drake Said Four More Songs, Because Apparently We Were Starving

Drake is back too, expanding HABIBTI with the new FOMO edition. The release adds “Solar Eclipse” featuring Don Toliver, “Quebec,” “Classic PT2” and “Cold Shoulder,” featuring Don Toliver and Yebba. “Solar Eclipse” is the officially released version of Drake and Don Toliver's take on Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas.” At this point, Drake releases music like some people send group texts: frequently, unexpectedly and somehow at 2 a.m.

Mac Miller's The Divine Feminine Gets a Beautiful Anniversary

One of this week’s most meaningful releases comes from the Mac Miller estate. The Divine Feminine (10th Anniversary) expands Mac’s beloved 2016 album with three previously unreleased recordings from the original sessions: “Butterflies,” “Grand” and “Channel 13.” “Butterflies,” featuring Thundercat on bass, had already been unveiled ahead of the anniversary release. Ten years later, the album’s mix of hip-hop, soul, jazz and romance still feels ridiculously smooth—and hearing unheard music from those sessions makes this much more than the usual anniversary repackage.

Lil Nas X Is Back in the Building

Lil Nas X officially returned this week with “World’s Greatest!”, an upbeat new single accompanied by a Phillip Youmans-directed music video. The track arrived October 1, putting it squarely in this week’s New Music Friday rotation. The song leans into optimism and self-belief, giving us one of the week’s brighter pop moments—and yes, Lil Nas X coming back quietly was apparently never one of the available options.

NoCap and Ari Lennox Keep the Playlist Busy

There’s plenty more waiting once you make it past the marquee names. NoCap delivers the 21-track Heaven on Mars, continuing his melodic, autobiographical style, while Ari Lennox expands Vacancy with Vacancy: Late Checkout, adding nine tracks to the album. Yung Miami also enters the weekend with new music, while the broader October 2 release slate includes projects from artists across hip-hop, R&B and pop. Translation: your “I'll just listen to a few songs” plan has officially been canceled.

From Quavo and Pharrell going big on QRÖMELIFE to Victoria Monét giving us 22 tracks to investigate, Drake reopening the FOMO vault, Lil Nas X returning and Mac Miller’s estate revisiting an important piece of his catalog, October 2 is one of those New Music Fridays where the shuffle button is about to earn its paycheck.
