The Filipino-American singer-songwriter will contribute her voice to the ongoing oral history project preserving the people, experiences and creative traditions that shape Miami.

MIAMI, Fla. — July 30, 2026 — Filipino-American singer-songwriter, performer and youth correspondent Soleil River Nation has been invited to participate in the Miami Stories Initiative, an ongoing oral history project dedicated to preserving the voices, experiences and creative traditions that define Miami’s cultural heritage.

Through recorded interviews and community story collections, the Miami Stories Initiative has built a growing archive documenting the people, memories and moments that have shaped the city. Soleil’s participation will add the perspective of a young Miami-raised artist whose music reflects the city’s multicultural identity.

At just 12 years old, Soleil is emerging as a distinctive new voice in pop, drawing inspiration from her Filipino-American heritage and the Latin, Caribbean and international sounds that surround her in South Florida. Her story reflects a generation of young creatives who do not see culture as a boundary, but as a source of connection, confidence and artistic possibility.

“This invitation is such an honor because Miami is a huge part of who I am and the music I create,” said Soleil River Nation. “I’m excited to share my story and to be part of an archive that will help future generations understand the people, cultures and creativity that make this city so special.”

The invitation follows Soleil’s recent recognition as the winning artist of Elevated Tracks 305 for her original song, “Miami on My Tongue.” The song celebrates Miami’s optimism, diversity and unmistakable rhythm while reflecting Soleil’s own experience growing up at the intersection of Filipino-American identity and South Florida culture.

Her participation in the Miami Stories Initiative marks another important step in a growing career centered on music, storytelling and representation. Beyond performing and songwriting, Soleil has appeared on South Florida media platforms, interviewed community and global leaders, and used her voice to encourage young people to embrace the cultures and communities that shaped them.

By including Soleil’s story in its archive, the Miami Stories Initiative is preserving not only the journey of an emerging artist, but also a portrait of contemporary Miami... young, diverse, connected and constantly evolving.

Additional details about Soleil’s interview and participation will be announced at a later date.
