Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Renewed for Season 4 as Netflix Reverses Its Final-Season Decision

Netflix has officially renewed Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black for Season 4, reversing its earlier decision to end the addictive family drama after Season 3. Here’s what the surprise renewal means for Kimmie, Mallory, the Bellarie family, and the show’s future.

Netflix Just Pulled the Ultimate “Actually, Never Mind”

Netflix has officially renewed Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black for Season 4, reversing its previous plan to end the series after Season 3. Yes, you read that correctly. The farewell party has been canceled, the imaginary folding chairs are being put back into storage, and nobody needs to write a dramatic goodbye speech for the Bellarie family just yet. Netflix announced the surprise renewal on July 23, 2026, confirming that the scandal-filled drama will continue beyond its upcoming third season.

Season 3 Was Supposed to Be the Grand Finale

When Netflix renewed Beauty in Black for a third season, the streaming service originally described it as the show’s final chapter. The announcement suggested that Kimmie’s turbulent journey with the powerful and profoundly dysfunctional Bellarie family was heading toward an epic conclusion. Fans naturally began preparing themselves for one last collection of betrayals, business battles, family feuds and conversations that could have been polite emails but instead became full-scale emotional warfare.

Then Netflix Changed Its Mind

Now, Season 3 is no longer the end. Netflix has given Beauty in Black an early Season 4 renewal before Season 3 has even premiered. That's a fairly strong vote of confidence, especially in the unpredictable world of streaming, where viewers sometimes finish a season on Friday and discover by Monday that the entire series has been launched directly into the cancellation abyss. In this case, Netflix apparently looked at the Bellarie family’s unfinished business and wisely concluded that these people still have far too many secrets, grudges and questionable decisions left to explore.

Tyler Perry Says the Bellarie Story Is Far From Finished

Tyler Perry, who serves as the series’ creator, writer, director and executive producer, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue the story. He explained that there was much more he wanted to explore and thanked the viewers who have supported, watched and shared the show since its debut. Most importantly, Perry confirmed that more episodes are coming. In other words, the Bellarie family will remain employed in the business of creating unnecessary chaos for the foreseeable future.

Season 3 Arrives on August 27, 2026

Before viewers can start worrying about Season 4, they have an entire third season of trouble to survive. Netflix confirmed that Beauty in Black Season 3 will premiere on August 27, 2026. That date gives fans just enough time to rewatch the first two seasons, rebuild the Bellarie family tree, remember who betrayed whom and possibly purchase a notebook specifically for tracking shifting alliances. At this point, a notebook may be more useful than trusting any character to explain what is happening honestly.

Kimmie Finally Has Power, but Keeping It Is Another Matter

Season 3 will continue Kimmie’s transformation from a woman struggling to survive into a serious force within the Bellarie empire. By the end of Season 2, she was no longer standing outside the family’s world looking in. She secured a seat at the table, gained influence within the Beauty in Black hair-care company and demonstrated that she was fully capable of playing the same dangerous game as the people who once underestimated her. Unfortunately, gaining power in this family is usually the exact moment everyone begins plotting to take it away.

Kimmie and Mallory Are Becoming the Alliance Nobody Expected

One of the most intriguing developments heading into Season 3 is the evolving relationship between Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, and Mallory, played by Crystle Stewart. The two women have spent much of the series watching, challenging and occasionally circling one another like stylish opponents preparing for battle. By the end of Season 2, however, they had formed an unlikely alliance. Whether that partnership becomes a genuine source of strength or another spectacular disaster waiting to happen remains to be seen. This is Beauty in Black, after all. Trust is not exactly sold in bulk around the Bellarie household.

A Deadly Family Feud Is About to Explode

Netflix’s description of Season 3 promises another dangerous conflict within the Bellarie family. As Kimmie attempts to hold on to her newfound position, a deadly family feud forces her into an uneasy partnership with Mallory. Together, the women must navigate revenge, blackmail and buried secrets while the family essentially wages war against itself. Apparently, ordinary disagreements were considered too peaceful, so the Bellaries have once again selected total destruction as their preferred method of conflict resolution.

The Bellarie Empire Could Come Crashing Down

The coming family war will not merely create uncomfortable dinners and angry text messages. Netflix has teased that the conflict could threaten the entire Bellarie empire. The Beauty in Black company has always represented wealth, status, control and the complicated legacy surrounding the family. If the secrets, criminal dealings and personal vendettas continue piling up, the company could become collateral damage. The Bellaries may know how to build a beauty empire, but their crisis-management strategy appears to consist primarily of blackmail, shouting and making the situation dramatically worse.

Jules Still Wants Answers About His Son

Another major storyline involves Jules, the Bellarie family’s intimidating head of security and Kimmie’s former boss. He remains determined to uncover the truth surrounding the death of his son, Glen. His grief and unanswered questions could make him increasingly unpredictable in Season 3. Taylor Polidore Williams has warned that grief can be relentless and that people carrying that kind of pain do not simply stop asking questions. Jules was already not the type of man anyone wanted investigating them, and grief has certainly not made him more relaxed.

Much of the Main Cast Is Returning

Netflix confirmed that Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart will return for Season 3 alongside Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan. That means many of the show’s central power players will remain involved as the Bellarie conflict escalates. Netflix has yet to reveal the complete Season 4 casting information, but the renewal guarantees that at least part of this increasingly complicated story will continue beyond the August season.

Why Did Netflix Reverse Its Decision?

Netflix hasn't publicly offered a detailed explanation for reversing the final-season plan. However, renewing the series before Season 3 premieres suggests that the company sees continued value in Beauty in Black and its audience. The show developed a loyal following around its fast-paced storytelling, unapologetic soap-opera energy, dramatic cliffhangers and characters who treat every private conversation as an opportunity to threaten somebody. The early renewal may also allow Tyler Perry and his team to plan Season 3 with a continuation in mind rather than forcing every storyline into a rushed conclusion.

This Is Great News for the Story

The renewal gives the series more room to develop Kimmie’s rise, her relationship with Mallory, Jules’ investigation, and the consequences facing the Bellarie family. A single final season would have needed to resolve numerous overlapping storylines while introducing new conflicts and delivering a satisfying ending. Season 4 removes some of that pressure. Instead of sprinting toward a conclusion, the show can allow its biggest confrontations to unfold at the gloriously dramatic pace they deserve.

It Also Changes How Fans Will Watch Season 3

Knowing that another season is coming completely changes the expectations surrounding Season 3. Viewers no longer need to analyze every episode as part of a final farewell. Instead, they can watch for new mysteries, unresolved relationships and cliffhangers that could lead directly into Season 4. Of course, this also means the Season 3 finale now has permission to end with an outrageous twist that leaves everybody yelling at the television. Please prepare emotionally and keep your remote somewhere safe.

What Could Happen in Season 4?

Netflix hasn't released an official synopsis, episode count, production schedule or premiere date for Season 4. Any specific plot predictions would therefore be speculation. Still, the fourth season could explore the consequences of the Bellarie family war, Kimmie’s long-term control of the company, the future of her alliance with Mallory, and whatever truths Jules uncovers. It could also introduce new enemies, new business threats, or additional relatives who arrive with suspicious smiles and deeply inconvenient information. Every powerful television family eventually discovers another cousin with a grudge.

When Will Season 4 Be Released?

There's currently no official release date for Beauty in Black Season 4. Netflix said that additional details will be announced later. Since Season 3 premieres on August 27, 2026, viewers may need to wait until after its release before Netflix shares substantial information about the fourth season’s production or launch schedule. Until Netflix or Tyler Perry announces a date, any rumored Season 4 release window should be treated as unofficial.

So, Beauty in Black is not ending after Season 3. Netflix reversed course, Tyler Perry has more story to tell, and the Bellarie family has been given additional time to lie, scheme, fight, and make expensive-looking bad decisions. Season 3 arrives August 27, 2026, and Season 4 is officially on the way. The only people who should be disappointed are the characters who thought their secrets could remain buried after the supposed final season.
